Phillips (born c. 1955) is an amateur poker player who qualified for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event through a $200 satellite tournament at Harrah’s St. Louis, his local Harrah’s casino. Phillips is also an account manager for Broadway Trucks, a commercial trucking company in St Louis, Missouri.
Phillips headed into the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event final table as chip leader with 26,295,000 in chips, and finished in third place, earning $4,517,773.
In the 2009 World Series of Poker Phillips followed his third place finish by finishing 45th, winning $178,857. His back-to-back top 50 finishes set a new two-year WSOP record for number of opponents outlasted at 13,378 — 6,494 in 2009 and 6,884 in 2008.
As of 2009, his total live winnings exceed $4,700,000.
